Hi Svenja,

I have both the tour leaders in the office today and have gone through the points that Mrs Haller has raised.

I have also got Ms. Haller’s tour report form with me, and on it she does mention some of the pints that you have pointed out, but her overall comment was; “Fun trip! Got to see and experience lots. I will never forget this holiday – thank you! It’d be great if Sunway would create a new tour with mostly games drives and also accommodated.”

So as you mentioned before she did have a great trip.

In answer to the points raised be Ms. Haller:

She would have liked more fresh dish towels and table cloths.
The guides used 3 dish towels per day, and there were always clean dish towels available. The dish towels were also cleaned along the route.
In her feedback form she mentions table clothes. I have spoken to the tour leaders and they admit that they did not clean / replace the table clothes as often as they should have. They will do so in the future. I will also get this info out to the other tour leaders.

She would have preferred to toast the bread or to have proper (brown) bread for lunch. The white bread was too soft and became boring in the course of the trip.
This is a recurring problem that we have with lunches as there is not enough variety do the fact that lunches are often roadside picnics. The tour leaders are aware of this issue, and both Shandle and Kulani did do cooked lunches where ever possible. I have also advised them to remember to change the type of bread used at lunches just to add some variety.

She found the visit to Hermanus a waste of time, as there were no whales. She asks if this day can be spent elsewhere outside the whale season. Apart from that, she would like you to change the wording as the whale season does not start in May but later (rather June/July). Agreed, there is not much to see and do in Hermanus out of whale season, but the clients did do a walk along the beach front while they were there. I also asked if the guide offered a boat cruise when in Hermanus as an alternative, but for some reason the boats were not available. I know that it is not because it was out of whale season, as you can still see dolphins on the boat trips. The guides did ask about this option, and were advised that no boats were running so did not bring this up with group to avoid creating and expectation which then would have been unachievable.

She would like the safety belts to be adjustable - not all of them were.
At the departure briefing Shandle showed the group how to adjust the seat belts. I have also just personally checked the vehicle that was used on this tour, and all of the seat belts are adjustable. Admittedly some of them are not easy to adjust, but they can all be adjusted. At no stage during the tour was this issue raised with the tour leaders.

One of the guides liked to race, and she did not feel so safe with his driving.
Both Shandle and Kulani drove on this tour, and they are both adamant that they did not speed on this tour. I stressed to them that this is something that is a big issue as if someone who is a passenger does not feel safe due to poor driving / speeding it can ruin their holiday. I have also checked if any speeding fines have come in from their trip and we have not received any speeding fines for this vehicle.

Regarding the distribution of the rooms: She travelled as a single and was sharing with another lady she did not know. The distribution of the rooms in the lodges was always at total random, although some rooms had double beds and others twins, and some had doors in the toilets and others not. She asks if two ladies/two men travelling as singles can have the rooms with a bit more privacy. Agreed – the tour leaders need to be more aware of this and check the rooms before they divide them up between the group.

Hope that this helps, but still pleased to see that overall she had a great tour. All of the other tour reports are also very positive.
